J. JOSH SMITH
was called as Lead Pastor of MBBC in July 2006. Prior to MBBC, he served churches in Arkansas and North Carolina. His greatest passion is to motivate people to live in such a way that God’s reputation is increased and his name is spread to the ends of the earth. Josh is a fourth generation Baptist pastor, a graduate of both Liberty University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has ministered in over 20 countries and lived in Central Europe for 2-1/2 years as a full-time missionary. Currently, he is working on a doctorate in expository preaching at Southwestern, and enjoys reading, writing and collecting jazz LPs. He and his wife, Andrea, have three girls, Lily, Gracie and Josie.

BRYANT JONES
serves as Music and Media Minister at MBBC. He is a native of Birmingham AL. He came from a Christian upbringing, confessing Christ at the age of 14 while a freshman in high school. Bryant surrendered to God’s call upon his life and was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in July 1999. He has served as a youth minister, Sunday school teacher and choir director. He served full-time at Gardendale Baptist Church as Minister to College & Young Singles and Worship Ministry Associate before coming to MBBC in May 2007. Bryant is all about praise, and enjoys investing his life in others as a mentor and friend.
DR. DAVID L. ALLEN
is Dean of the School of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Professor of Preaching, Director of the SW Center for Expository Preaching, and holds the George W. Truett Chair of Ministry. He served as senior pastor of MBBC, 2000-2005. He is a graduate of The Criswell College, Southwestern Seminary and the University of Texas at Arlington. His publications include: Lukan Authorship of Hebrews; “Hebrews” in the New American Commentary Series; “The Atonement: Limited or Universal?” in Whosoever Will: A Biblical-Theological Critique of Five-Point Calvinism; “Preaching and the Great Commission” in The Great Commission Resurgence: Fulfilling God’s Mandate in our Time; “The Methodology of Text-Driven Preaching,” in Text-Driven Preaching, eds. Daniel Akin, David L. Allen and Ned Matthews. Dr. Allen and his wife, Sherri, have four children: Jeremy, Jared, Melody, and Kali. His son, Jared, is Missions & Outreach Pastor at MBBC.
