We acknowledge that we cannot produce the same effect in teenagers as their Christian parents. Therefore, we strive to equip and encourage parents to fulfill their God-given responsibility of training and teaching their children in the ways of the LORD at home (see Deut. 6:4-9). For detailed info and resources on parenting, see Stages in the Journey of Parenthood.
We also see the value of providing an atmosphere of Christian community among young people and their peers. Students need to have a place to grow in their relationship with Christ, especially those who don’t have Christian parents to look to for leadership.
The Student Ministry is not a separate entity within the church, so we have the same mission and vision as the church. We accomplish these goals by taking teenagers to the truth of God’s Word to teach the centrality of Christ in all things and his commands for our lives.
Sunday Bible Fellowship (SBF):
Student ministry small groups meet at 9:30 am. These groups are designed to grow fellowship centered around the Word of God. Groups are both age and gender specific. Our leaders are trained adults, who have a passion for seeing our teenagers grow in their relationship with Christ.
We meet in the Worship Center for a fun and exciting time of games and worship followed by gospel-centered preaching and teaching. This event is designed to be the entry point into the student ministry and thus the primary avenue for our students to bring their friends.
Students are invited to our church-wide Midweek Gathering. This allows the students to participate in the life of our church as we worship, sing, pray, fellowship and listen to the teaching of Scripture together.
Throughout the year, we have outreach events, mission trips, gender specific events, offsite retreats, and special events that are designed for just plain fun.
